Real Estate Agent?  Realtor?  Broker? -- What's the difference?

REAL ESTATE AGENT

An agent is an individual who has received a Salesperson's license from the California Department Of Real Estate after completion of basic Real Estate courses and State testing.  This person can only perform Real Estate transactions under a licensed broker.

REALTOR

A Realtor is also a licensed Real Estate agent, but is also a member of the National Association Of Realtors.  A Realtor has access to additional training, legal services, and support from the N.A.R.

BROKER

A Broker is an individual who has received a Broker's license from the California Department of Real Estate after completing intensive training and study on Real Estate Practice, Economics, Ethics, Law (and more) -- and, who has also completed and passed a rigorous State test.

There is also a mimimum time period allowed before qualifying for a Broker's license.  The Broker's license is very difficult to obtain, and generally reflects a wealth of experience, training, and knowledge.

I am very proud to be both a Realtor and a Broker.  I have attained these credentials in order to provide the highest level of service and expertise to my valued clients!
